Get Your Copier Repaired
Founded in 1996, Carolina Business Technologies (CBT) is a short-term, business-to-business office equipment rental and repair business serving Charlotte, NC, and the surrounding area.
We service and repair various business equipment products, including color and black and white digital copiers, laser printers, and multi-function printers (MFPs). In addition, we offer our North Carolina business clients on-site and depot copier machine and printer repair services. The expert technicians at CBT are factory trained on all the products they service with over sixty years of combined experience in office copier and printer repair.
In addition to conducting physical repairs, we also offer expert support for printer configuration over networks. For example, we can update or load the latest printer drivers to your MFPs or copiers, allowing you to scan images or documents directly to a PC, server, email address, or all three.
Frequently Asked Questions About CBT
We want you to be confident that you’ve selected the best office equipment service company for your business. If you have any questions we don’t address here, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us at 704-583-9929 or visit our website.
What brands of copiers and laser printers do you work with?
We work exclusively with equipment made by Hewlett-Packard, Copystar, and Kyocera.
How quickly can our printer or copier be repaired?
Because we understand how important it is for your business to function without delay, we are committed to completing repairs within one business day. If you have an emergency, call us right away to speak with our team.
Is my printer or copier worth repairing, or should I get a replacement?
There are a few things to consider when deciding to replace or repair a printer. What is it worth? How much will fixing it cost? Do you have a lot of unused printer cartridges lying around? We can help you determine your best course of action.
We won’t try to upsell you or give you bad advice. For instance, if an office inkjet printer gives you consistent problems, we would advise you to purchase a new one as the units themselves are relatively inexpensive compared to repair costs.
What can I do with my surplus toner cartridges if I get a new printer or copier?
We suggest following one of these options: You can trade your old cartridges in for credits toward new cartridges to help pay for your new equipment. Or you could trade them in for future printer repairs. Finally, if they’re cartridges we have demand for, we can purchase them directly from you.
Will you take my old printer or copier in as a trade-in?
Unfortunately, we do not accept old printers as trade-ins towards new printers. We can, however, remove your printer for recycling. Again, this is a free service for our customers.
Do printers and copiers sold or rented from you come with service agreements?
We offer special programs to help businesses lower printer and copier repair and maintenance costs. Give us a call for more information.
My printer at home is down. Will you come fix it?
Unfortunately, we do not offer on-site residential printer repair.
Tips For Preventative Care and Maintenance
Many of the problems with office copiers and printers can be avoided by taking some simple steps in care and maintenance. For example, you can save downtime and repair costs by following this straightforward advice:
- Proper Ink and Toner – While recycled ink and toner cartridges are better than they used to be, there can still be problems sometimes. It’s in your best interest to go with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Check the manual or the company’s website for more information.
- Proper paper use – Use clean, smooth paper that has been stored in a dry, dust-free place. Don’t overstuff the paper trays as this will lead to paper jams. Also, fan the paper a little before loading it into the tray. This will release static that may cause pages to stick together.
- Handle with care – You can extend the life of your printer or copier simply by treating it well. Don’t pile boxes, laptops, or other heavy items on top of it. Likewise, be careful with any food or drink containers nearby. Ensure your equipment is not near ordinary foot traffic in your office where it may get bumped into. Pay particular attention to where your paper or output trays extend. Finally, please don’t hit it if you are experiencing an issue. That will usually make a problem worse. First, consult your manual. If that’s not helping, then give us a call.
